Waste honey recovery of sugar beet sugar

About 50% of the sucrose in the waste beet honey cannot be further purified by crystallization. The traditional method of recovering sugar in waste honey is the sucrose salt method. Using sucrose to form insoluble salts with oxides of alkaline earth metals (calcium, strontium, barium), sugars are separated from waste honey. Commonly used is the sucrose calcium salt method in which fine lime powder and sucrose in waste honey are used to form sucrose tricalcium precipitation.
